George Avery Millwood, 67, of Inman, SC passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his home. Born February 23, 1948, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late C.G. and Jessie Tessnear Millwood. Mr. Millwood served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army and was in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He worked in textiles as a rigger. He is survived by three sons, Scott, Shea, and Joey Millwood; a brother, Bryant Millwood of Mooresville, NC; sisters, Phyllis Vandiver (Roger) of Inman, SC, and Shelby Johnson of Mayo, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Francis Fortenberry. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, June 29, 2015 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St. Ext., Roebuck, SC 29376, conducted by the Rev. William Walters.
