George Martin Lancaster, 92, of Hwy 215, Pauline, SC, died Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born January 4, 1920, in the West Springs community of Union County, SC, he was the son of the late Jesse Right and Rhoda Gown Lancaster, and husband for 60 years to the late Anna Mary Posey Lancaster. Mr. Lancaster was the founder of Lancaster Paint Sundries, a veteran of the U. S. Army, a member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church, and he loved fishing and hunting. Survivors include his sisters, Elliotte Lancaster Kelly and husband Billy of Buffalo, SC, and Carolyn Lancaster Garland and husband Dean of Seneca, SC; a brother, Phelix W. Lancaster and wife Judy of Pauline, SC; and nine nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, in the church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Thomas and the Rev. Gary Peterson. Burial will be in Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
