"George" Craddock

Garland Lafayette "George" Craddock, 90, of Spartanburg, died Friday, August 5, 2011, at Skylyn Place. Born August 30, 1920, in Emporia, VA, he was the son of the late Green and Florence Mason Craddock, and husband of the late Mary Susan Clarke Craddock. Mr. Craddock was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a 1952 graduate of Erskine College and graduated first in his class. He attended the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Spartanburg, and retired from Western Electric. Survivors include his daughters, Susan Emerson and husband Richard of Redding, CT, Jane Flandry and husband Robert of Spartanburg, SC, Margaret Craddock of New Orleans, LA, and Carol Burch and husband Mark of Chapel Hill, NC; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Elwood Craddock of Atlanta, GA. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Skylyn Place, by the Rev. Peter A. Waid. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum.
