Geneva Lawson Aycock, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021 after battling heart disease. She was born September 19, 1923 in Forsyth County, North Carolina to the late Thomas and Maude Banner Lawson, along with her late husband, William "Bill" W. Aycock who she was married to for 40 years. Geneva and her husband Bill were active members of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. When the church closed in 2006, Mrs. Aycock transferred to Central United Methodist Church. Mrs. Aycock enjoyed her last working years as a bookkeeper for Thomas and Howard Wholesale Grocery in Spartanburg. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Judy G. Brown of Roswell, GA, and step daughter, Judy Dunn of Newport News, Virginia. She has also been blessed with many great nieces, nephews, seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, along with many dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her son, Garry Smith of Brandon, MS. Visitation will be 10:00 - 10:45 AM Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM at the Chapel, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Thomas Norrell and Mr. Sam Knight. Burial will follow in Carlisle Wesleyan Cemetery, 3250 Old Furnace Road, Chesnee SC, 29323.
