Geneva Alman

Geneva Reno Goforth Alman, 94, of Spartanburg, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 27, 1916 in Johnson City, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Roten and Nancy Anzaline Gann Reno. She was first married to the late William C. Goforth and then to the late Judson Alman. She was the oldest member of Fairforest Church of God. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Weathers of Inman, Judy Giard of Springhill, FL, and Dorothy Jordan of Winston Salem, NC; four sons, George Goforth of Boiling Springs, Floyd Goforth of Woodruff, Bobby Goforth of Moore, and Willie Alman of Gastonia, NC; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and nineteen great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Bea Corey and Gelina Goforth; and a son, Rev. Jimmie Alman. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Fairforest Church of God. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church, conducted by the Rev. John H. Petty, III. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairforest Church of God, Shut- In Ministry, P.O. Box 465, Fairforest, SC 29336. The family is at their respective homes.
