Gene Deal

Gene Deal, 76, of Wellford, died Friday, December 24, 2010, at his home. Born April 19, 1934, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Herman H. Deal and Idella J. Sleeth, and was married to the late Shirley Ann Cox Deal for 36 years. He was former Vice President of Band & White Printing Co., Inc.; a veteran of the U.S. Army Rangers, having served during the Korean Conflict; member of the Disabled American Veterans; and member of Second Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Dwayne K. Deal and wife Jan of Moore, SC; three grandsons, Taylor Deal and wife Lindsay, Tyler Deal and wife Jessica, all of Lyman, and Graham Deal of Moore; a great-granddaughter, Ella Catherine Deal of Lyman; a brother, Kent H. Deal and wife Faye of Spartanburg; and a sister, Linda Deal Trammel of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a grandson, Travis Foster Deal. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. William C. Pate, Jr., the Rev. David M. Blanton, and the Rev. James Nugent. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
