Gena Hill

Gena F. Hill departed this life on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was born in Pacolet, SC to the late Nannie J. and Charles L. Fleming on October 21, 1930. She was the widow of James C. Hill. Surviving are her daughters, Joyce M. McDaniel (Rickey), Susan N. Wilson (Frank), and Patti A. Lacey (Andrew); six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Jack Fleming, Joe Fleming, Vera Wilkins, and Mickie Pettigrew. She was predeceased by a brother, Victor Fleming; and a sister, Mary Etta Fleming. Mrs. Hill was a dedicated member of Ben Avon Baptist Church for over 40 years and a long-standing member of the Lillie Knox Garden Club. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Ben Avon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and also at the home at 2245 Hickory Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29302. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ben Avon Baptist Church, 2437 Wallace Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or the Hope Center for Children, PO Box 1731, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
