Gayla Mixon Pridmore, 65, of Spartanburg, formerly of Columbus, MS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Born September 10, 1947, in Haleyville, AL, she was a daughter of the late James Webster and Jessica Northington Mixon and the widow of T. U. Pridmore, Jr. She attended First Baptist Church of Columbus, was a member of First Baptist Church in Steens, and was the owner of Pridmore Insulation Contractors, Inc. Surviving is her daughter, Rená Pridmore Fowler and Scott of Spartanburg, SC; her son, Joseph Preston Pridmore and Jennifer of Caledonia, MS; her loving grandchildren, Marshall, Sam and Will Fowler, and Courtney, Dakota and Peyton Pridmore; and her great-grandson, Preston Kade Pridmore. She is also survived by her sisters, Katherine Carenbaugh, Glenda Prillhart, Dorothy Hardin, Patsy Alexander, and Sheila Bush; and her brothers, James, Frank, and Kenny Mixon. She was predeceased by a son, Benjamin Pridmore; and two brothers, Lynn and Bobby Terrell Mixon. Visitation will be 1:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home, 903 College Street, Columbus, MS 39701. A service to celebrate Gayla's life will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
