G. Glover Sr

G. Ray Glover Sr., 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home. Born July 30, 1927 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Paul Theron Glover Sr. and Belle Kennedy Glover. Gerald was retired as an agent with Life of Georgia after 40 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia and a former deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. Gerald loved his wife, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His favorite hobbies were gardening and to work in his yard. Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Jeanne Taylor Glover; his sons, Jerry Glover (Penny) of Spartanburg, SC and David Glover (Rhonda) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Brooke Confer (Chet) of Duncan, SC, Lyndsey Ballenger (Adam) of Inman, SC, and Kyle Glover of Lyman, SC, four great grandchildren, a special niece, Carole Glover Davis, nephews, Chip Glover and Chris Glover (Dana). He was also predeceased by a great grandchild, Baylor Ballenger, a nephew, Whitt Glover, and siblings, James Glover, Paul Glover and Nell Fowler. Visitation will be 1:00 - 1:45 PM Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Joey Burnett and The Rev. Dylan Styles. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
