Furman Michael Chapman, 58, of 20 Carney Street, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his home. Born September 13, 1952 in Spartanburg, he was the son of Geraldine Bridges Chapman of Spartanburg and the late Baylus Furman Chapman. He was a lab technician with Chevron Phillips with thirty years of service, a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include two daughters, Jessica Chapman and Jennifer Chapman both of Spartanburg; two sons, Jeremiah Chapman of Clinton, SC and Joseph Chapman of Duncan; nine grandchildren; and a brother, William Chapman of Drayton. He was predeceased by a brother, Roy Chapman and a granddaughter, Shonasia Nichole Mills. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Danny Cannon. Burial with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
