Frederick Strom

Frederick A. Strom, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 16, 1928, in Milford, MA, he was the son of the late Oscar and Elizabeth Luto Strom, and husband of the late Margaret Pidgeon Strom. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Strom was employed with Draper Corporation for 35 years. After retirement he worked for John D. Hollingsworth for 12 years. A lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, he was also an avid golfer, member of The Creek Golf Club, very competitive, and enjoyed all types of games and sports. Surviving is his daughter, Pamela Louise Strom Zimmerman and her husband Stan of Marietta, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Ragnar Strom and Carl Strom; and sisters, Sylvie Pouliot and Helvie Simmons. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Evans. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 393 E.
