Frederick Sparnell Jr.

Frederick Harold Sparnell, Jr., 85, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, December 30, 2016, at his home. Born June 17, 1931, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Frederick Harold Sparnell, Sr. and Alice Josephine Tyler Sparnell. A U. S. Coast Guard veteran, Mr. Sparnell was a commercial artist, a graduate of Anderson Junior College, and received his BA Degree from the University of Georgia. Survivors include his sister, Dorothy Baggett (Jay) of McCormick, SC, and brother in law, H. M. Corn of Rock Hill, SC; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Hand and Shirley Corn. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery, 188 Oakwood Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29302, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Paul Wood.
