Fred Shehan

Fred Lamar Shehan, 71, of Spartanburg, died Friday, August 6, 2010 at his home. Born June 29, 1939 in Avondale, NC, he was the son of the late William Eugene and Audrey Silvers Shehan. He was a retired switchman and conductor with Norfolk Southern Railway, a member of Northbrook Baptist Church, and a veteran of the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Jo Gregory Shehan; three daughters, Debra Shehan Huffman and husband Larry of Chesnee, Kimberly Shehan Carter and husband Jeff of Boiling Springs, and Freddie Shehan Weaver and husband Jamie of Chesnee; a sister, Loretta Shehan Henderson of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Jake Shehan, Brad Carter, and Nicholas Weaver; and one great-grandchild, Riley Grace Shehan. He was predeceased by a brother, the Rev. Roy Alvin Shehan. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Dickard and the Rev. Adrian Allen. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Northbrook Baptist Church Building Fund, 1881 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home.
