Fred Boyd Marr, 84, beloved husband of Elizabeth "Lib" Brown Marr, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011. Born August 22, 1926, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late James William and Rosie Irene Stoltz Marr. He was the last surviving member of a family of eight children. Mr. Marr honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for Southern Railroad prior to retiring after 32 years with Flav-o-rich Dairies, Inc. Mr. Marr was an active member of Westview Church where he served the church family and the community of Spartanburg. In addition to his wife of 59 years, Mr. Marr is survived by his daughter, Linda "Lyn" Marr Griffith; and his son, Dennis Wayne Marr; five grandchildren, Fred Griffith, Cindi Griffith Gregory, Christy Harbinson, David Marr, and Jonathan Marr; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard Peters and the Rev. Homer Smith. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
