Franklin Eugene Morgan, Sr.

Franklin Eugene Morgan, Sr., 89, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. He was born on May 14, 1935, in Spartanburg County, a son of the late Dora Splawn Morgan and Grady Lee Morgan.

Franklin was a longtime member of New Pisgah Baptist Church (now First Baptist-North Spartanburg) and was retired from Hoechst-Celanese with over 25 years of faithful service.

Surviving is his loving wife of over 70 years, Mary Lou Fulton Morgan; his daughters, Ginny Owens (Alan) and Leslie McBee (Jay); his son, Franklin Eugene “Chip” Morgan, Jr. (Lisa); 6 grandchildren, Brad Crocker (Tracy), Terri Howell (Steven), Justin McBee (Sheri), Shelby Dobbins (Adam), Joshua Morgan (Nikki) and Jena McDowell (Scott); and 10 great-grandchildren, Peyton Crocker, Skylar Crocker, Jordan Boyter, Chelsea Layton, Kellen McBee, Jaelyn McBee, Annalise McDowell, Aria McDowell, Elspeth McDowell and Adalyn Morgan. He was predeceased by his siblings, Kenneth Morgan and Magdelene Sexton.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
