Franklin Leon "Bud" Moss, 84, passed away on January 20, 2024, in Spartanburg. He was born on December 31, 1939, in Clover, SC to the late, Robert Kelly Moss and Bessie Lee Clack Moss. Bud was a loving husband, father, and PawPaw who lived a long and fulfilling life filled with happiness and joy.
Bud is remembered as the owner and operator of Highway 9 Body Shop and Circle Body Shop. He took great pride in his work and his commitment made him a trusted figure in the community.
In addition to his successful career, Bud was a 40 plus year life member of the Masonic Lodge Lone Oak #372. His dedication to the lodge demonstrated his commitment to serving others and positively impacting the lives of those around him.
Bud was known for his generosity, often going above and beyond to assist those in need. He would give someone the shirt off his back and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Outside of work and community involvement, Bud loved NASCAR racing and would eagerly follow every race. Enjoying a cold beer, watching the races, riding his tractor to mow the yard, and taking part in any activities that involved his grandkids.
Among Bud's proudest accomplishments was serving as a South Carolina State Constable and being an unwavering supporter of law enforcement. Additionally, Bud had deep connections with members of the NASCAR racing community. His passion for racing shone through as he forged friendships with both past and present NASCAR figures.
Bud is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Powers Moss for 56 years. He was an incredible father to his sons, Jeffory Leon Moss (Tammy) of Spartanburg and William Brian Moss (Tracy) of Inman, his grandchildren, Jenna Moss, Josh Moss, Jami Moss, and Britney Moss, all held a special place in his heart, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Colleen White, Faye McAbee, and Peggy Burch.
Services to honor and celebrate Bud's life will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, with visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Floyds Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel and burial in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens. Services to be conducted by the Rev. Jeff Valentine with Masonic Rites and Military Honors by Boiling Springs American Legion Post 200.
Bud touched the lives of many throughout his journey on this earth. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but forever remembered for his kindness, generosity, and free spirit.
