Frank Starosto, 88, entered into life eternal with his Lord Jesus on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home-Anderson, SC. Born May 27, 1928, in Akron, OH, to the late Michael and Helen Starosto, he was one of ten children. Frank has been a resident of Spartanburg since 1963, when he moved his family to work for Firestone Steel Products. Frank would work for Firestone for 42 years before his retirement. A veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1950 until 1952, Frank was a longtime member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church where he served in a number of leadership positions. He is survived by four children, William P. Stanley (Janice) of Spartanburg, SC, Denise M. Starosto Bridges (Gerald) of Boiling Springs, SC, Frank M. Starosto (Tammy) of Roebuck, SC, and Franklin E. McDonald (Jan) of Pacolet, SC; sister, Mary Popian of Akron, OH; brother, Steven Starosto (Janet) of Conway, SC; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Mary Combs Starosto; as well as 2 grandchildren; and 7 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 AM Saturday, June 18, 2016, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Robert L. Brown. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary escort. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 101 St. Matthews Lane, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family is at the home of William P. Stanley.
