Frank Weston Mahon, Jr., 91, died on Saturday, September 6, 2014. A native of Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Frank Weston and Annie Laurie Howell Mahon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in Patton's Third Army as a member of the Corp of Engineers. Upon completion of his military service, he graduated from Clemson College with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He then began a 40-year career with Deering Milliken (Milliken & Company) in Corporate Engineering. In 1951, he married the late Lillian Harrison of Simpsonville, SC. Frank and Lillian were happily married for 59 years. They became the parents of Melanie Mahon Eckles (Tom), and Frank Weston Mahon, III (Ronnah). His grandchildren are Thomas Austin Eckles (Paige), Meredith Ashley Eckles Donley (Jonathan), Mary Allison Eckles Caudell (Spencer), Meredith Brooke Mahon Morris (Brent), and Frank Weston Mahon, IV. Great grandchildren are Thomas Brooks Eckles and Piper Weston Donley. Additionally, he is survived by one sister, Norma Mahon Mason of Jacksonville, FL. Frank was a member of the VFW, and served on the Salvation Army Board of Advisors for 25 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the John Nicholson Sunday School class, and had served on the Administrative Board, Building Committee, and Staff-Parish Relations Committee. He and his late wife enjoyed ballroom dancing and were members of the Quadrille Dance Club and The Piedmont Club. The family will welcome friends at 10:00 - 10:45 AM, Tuesday, September 9, in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary conducted by the Reverend A. Mickey Fisher and the Reverend Neal Woods. Honorary Escort will be members of the John Nicholson Sunday School class. A private committal will be in the Harrison Family Cemetery, Simpsonville, SC.
