Frank Owen Ezell, Jr., 72, of Spartanburg, SC, peacefully passed away at his home. Born February 14, 1944, in Union, SC, he was the son of the late Frank Owen Ezell, Sr. and Louise Sanders Ezell. A graduate of Spartanburg High School and Mars Hill University, Mars Hill, NC, Mr. Ezell was also a graduate of the College of Business Management Institute, University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY. His career path includes banking, Spartanburg Bank and Trust Co., college administrative work, Limestone College, and healthcare finance, retiring as a Business Services Manager from Spartanburg Medical Center. Mr. Ezell taught evening-school business courses at Cecil's Business College and Spartanburg Technical College from 1971-1976. He was also an adjunct instructor in the LifeLong Learning Program at Wofford College. Memberships and organizations include: Fellow, Healthcare Financial Management Association, receiving all certifications and honors granted by the Association, as well as serving on various committees of the South Carolina Chapter; Board of Advisors, Mars Hill University since 1971; Founder and Architect, Hub City Railroad Museum and Caboose Exhibit; Founder and board member, Blue Ridge Railroad Association, Landrum, SC; chairman, SC Passenger Rail Consortium; chairman, W. O. Ezell Beautification Committee; and member, Cross Flags Corvette Club, Spartanburg. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as co-chair of the ushers and was a member of the Acts Sunday School Class. Survivors include two brothers, Robert D. Ezell and wife Shany, David S. Ezell, and nephews, Blake Ezell and Adam Ezell, all of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Morningside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Steven R. Owensby and the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC.
