Francis “Frank” McDonough, 84, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the home of his son. Born June 30, 1937, in East Patterson, New Jersey, Frank was the son of the late Francis McDonough and Bertha Juillet McDonough Derby.
A member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Frank was best known for his knowledge, skill, and love of homing pigeon racing. His birds are known nationally and he was a lifetime member of the A.U.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Louise GaMache Wiley McDonough; his son, Bill McDonough (Dea); Grandsons, Derick Nance (Donna) of Maryland; William McDonough of Spartanburg, Daniel, Michael and Bryan McDonough of Roebuck, David McDonough (Anna). Great granddaughters Kala and Autumn Nance of Maryland and great grandson, Isaiah McDonough of Spartanburg; brothers, Allen McDonough of Florida and Victor McDonough of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Teresa Ann Steeg McDonough.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 22, 2022, 10:00 AM, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Historic Church, 161 N. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC, 29302, conducted by Rev. David R. Whitman. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC, 29307.
