Frances Rice

Frances Amberzine Rice, 92, of Cowpens, SC, died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born January 28, 1924, in Cowpens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Ola Coyle and widow of the late Noah Rice. Mrs. Rice was a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church and was retired from Sears, Roebuck & Company after 23 years of service. Survivors include grandson, Jeremy Rice (Amanda), great-grandchildren; Mahala, Elizabeth, and Jacob Rice; granddaughter, Vickie Lynn and great-grandson, Cody Dixon and daughter-in-law, Brenda Ruppe (Wayne) all of Gaffney, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son Jimmy Rice; sister, Louise Phillips, and four brothers, Claude, Clarence, Broadus, and Rev. Paul A. Coyle. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Ronell Owensby.
