Frances Woods Pittman, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Thomas Woods and Pearl Estelle Cherry Woods. A wonderful baker, Mrs. Pittman was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and an instructor for the American Red Cross. She was pleased to be the founder and leader of the Mother's Morning Out Program at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Benjamin C. Pittman; son, Benjamin C. Pittman Jr. (Linda) of Greenville, SC; daughter, Donna L. Pittman of the home; grandchildren, Kady A. Moore (Chris) of Boiling Springs, SC, Tanner Pittman (Julia) of LaGrange, GA, and Trevor Pittman of Boiling Springs, SC; five great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Ledford of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Leslie Young. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Pittman Ducker. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, May 5, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Keith Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
