Frances McNeill Bailey Kendrick, 76, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born March 20, 1933, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lewis McNeill and Frances Witherspoon Bailey and widow of C. Leonard Kendrick, Jr. She was a retired school teacher and a very active member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church where she was a member of Soul Survivors, the Altar Guild and the Pastoral Care Committee. She was a member and past president of the Elizabeth Heath Study Book Club, a volunteer at St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic and Mobile Meals, served on the Spartanburg County Mental Health Association Board of Directors and was a Master Gardener. She graduated from Winthrop College and attained her Master's Degree from USC-Upstate. Survivors include two sons, Charles L. Kendrick, III of Williamsburg, VA and James Lewis Kendrick and his wife Sonia V. Kendrick of Chesnee; a daughter, F. Bailey Kendrick of Pawley's Island; and two grandchildren, McNeill V. Kendrick and Jaime M. Kendrick. She was predeceased by a sister, Ann Bailey Gilpin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church conducted by the Rev. Joseph K. Smith. Inurnment will be in the Church Columbarium.
