Frances Farmer

Frances Lee Farmer, 74, of Spartanburg, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013, at White Oak Manor-Spartanburg. Born October 27, 1938, in Spartanburg, she was the widow of Sidney Farmer Sr. and the daughter of the late Inez and Dorsey Lee. Mrs. Farmer was a member of Southside Baptist Church where she was the pre-school children's choir director and a member of the Sanctuary Choir for many years. She was also a retired teacher's aide for Spartanburg County School District 6. Survivors include her two sons, Sid Farmer and his wife Rachel of Pigeon Forge, TN, and Scott Farmer and his wife Beth of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren, Judson, Sydney, and Mary Claire Farmer, all of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Carolyn Comer of Spartanburg, SC; and one brother, Donnie Lee of Spartanburg, SC. She was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Lee of Columbia, SC. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Danny Garrett. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family would like to thank the staff of Neighborhood #2 at White Oak Manor and the staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina for their love and care. The family is at her home.
