Frances Culbreth

Frances Thomas Culbreth, 90, of Spartanburg, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at RoseCrest. Born September 14, 1918, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Trefter Oliver and Maude Bell Thomas and the wife of the late Heber Layton Culbreth. She was retired from Raycord Manufacturing Company and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Thomas L. Culbreth and his wife Cathy B. of Greer; a daughter, Joanne C. Greer and her husband Robert B. of North Augusta; three granddaughters, Shellie Culbreth Smith, Lisa Smith, and Luanne Greer; and a great-grandson, Kyle Smith. She was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Trefter LeRoy Thomas and Sunny Ray Thomas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Mike McGee and the Rev. Joe Dempsey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 350 North Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
