Frances E. Cribb, 86, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Inman. Born June 11, 1923, in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Richard Noah and Margaret Boyd Cribb. She lived in Spartanburg most of her life, worked for Dr. Koopman during World War II, and retired from Carolina Cash Company after 28 years of service. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for over 70 years and worked in the church nursery for 40 years. Survivors include a sister, Grace Cribb Jennings of Spartanburg; a sister-in-law, Louella Cribb of Spartanburg; and nieces, Lola Mae Cribb and Sylvia Jennings of Spartanburg. Nephews are Richard B. Cribb, Jr. of Spartanburg; the Rev. Dr. Thomas Cribb and wife Becky of Salem, VA; Wade Jennings and wife Jane of Rochester Hills, MI; Charles Jennings and wife Susan of Soddy Daisy, TN; Dr. Jonathan Jennings and wife Janis of Anderson, SC; and David Jennings and wife Dr. Joyce Jennings of Evanston, IL; eight great-nieces and nephews; and thirteen great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles Irvin Cribb, Richard Boyd Cribb, and Robert Carson Cribb. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. David M. Blanton and the Rev. Thomas S. Cribb. Burial will be in West Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 316 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or to Hospice Compassus, 500 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
