Frances Cherry

Frances Russell Cherry, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 14, 1922, in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Sara Ann Burkett Cherry. Miss Cherry retired after 25 years of service as the bookkeeper/secretary for the late Dr. John O. Watkins and 11 years of service with Dr. Robert J. Haas and Dr. Michael W. Holmes. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg. Surviving is her sister, Julia Cherry Lawson of Spartanburg; and her dear friend, Jean Newman of Spartanburg. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2013, in West Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by the Rev. Norman L. Band.
