Frances Caldwell

Frances Scott Caldwell, 85, of Duncan, SC, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at her home. Born October 13, 1930, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Emma Lenora and Grover Cleveland Scott. As a registered nurse, Mrs. Caldwell served as head nurse with Mary Black Memorial Hospital OBGYN and retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was the honored recipient of the Employee of the Year Award 1987-1988 while employed at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A former pianist at South Spartanburg Church of God, she was a current member of Vineyard Church of God. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, James W. Caldwell, of the home; children, James W. Caldwell Jr. (Wanda) of Roebuck, SC and Elaine Caldwell of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, James W. Caldwell III (Carrie) of Roebuck, SC, Donald S. Caldwell (Jessica) of Woodruff, SC, and Susie Swann (Ted) of Clemson, SC; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Makenzy, Emma, and Daisy Caldwell, Davis, Will, and Lucas Swann; and sister, JoAnn Hawkins of Woodruff, SC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Grover C. Scott Jr. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 AM Friday, August 26, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Paul Allison. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vineyard Church of God, 251 South Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
