Floyd Ferguson

Floyd G. Ferguson, 105, of Boiling Springs, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Wesley Court Assisted Living. Born July 21, 1907, in Pickens County, SC, he was the husband of the late Irene Elizabeth Clark Ferguson and son of the late Ernest T. and Mary Elizabeth Norris Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was retired from Southern Railroad after 30 years of service, a Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church, member of the church choir and song leader at church and several nursing home facilities, a member at St. John's Masonic Lodge #333, and a Scottish Rite Mason. Surviving are his daughter, Pat F. Hoover and husband, Jerry Hoover of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Heather H. Ferguson of Chapel Hill, NC, Gary C. Ferguson Jr. of Orangeburg, SC, F. Gabe Ferguson and Robin Hoover, both of Spartanburg, SC; one great-granddaughter of Florida; and one great-great-granddaughter of Florida. He was predeceased by his son, Gary Clark Ferguson Sr. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Scott Linnerud. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 4000 Parris Bridge Road Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Many thanks to the staff at Wesley Court for their loving care.
