Floyd Duckett, Sr.

Floyd Lee Duckett, Sr., 65, of 193 New Cut Drive, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at his home. Born January 14, 1944, in Cowpens, SC, he was the son of the late Guy Jerome and Bessie Mae Anderson Duckett. He was a painting contractor and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Darlene Woodie Duckett; three sons, Floyd Lee Duckett, Jr., Curtis Ray Duckett, and Johnny Wayne Duckett, all of Asheville, NC; two daughters, Crystal Lorraine Cutting of Spartanburg, and Leigha Darlene Parker of Cowpens; a brother, Mike Duckett of Gaffney; three sisters, Viola Duckett of Fort Mill, Irene Pettit and Mildred Gaydos, both of Cowpens; and eighteen grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, Pleasant Valley Road, Cowpens. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The family is at the home.
