Floy Smith

Floy Helen Smith, 97, of Pauline, SC, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Magnolia Place-Spartanburg. Born May 6, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James V. and Leila Mullins Smith and widow of Furman Smith. Mrs. Smith worked for many years in retail sales, first at Montgomery Ward and then retiring from J. C. Penney. She was an active member of Philadelphia Baptist Church where she served as organist for many years. She was also active for many years in the Senior Adult Ministry and was the 6th generation of her family to serve the church she loved. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Nieces and nephews include James Elmer Fowler, Nancy Lineberry, Pollyanna Davis, Laline Gibson, James V. Smith, and Danny R. Smith. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 3119 Hwy 56, Pauline, SC 29374, by Rev. Charles M. Eaton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the burial.
