Florence Martin

Florence Griffin Martin, 88, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 24, 1922 in Laurens County, SC, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Florence Davis Griffin and the wife of the late Wilbur P. Martin. She retired from the Spartanburg Herald-Journal and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Jeanne B. Griffin of North Augusta, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Cryptside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Benjamin Littlejohn. Visitation will follow the service at the cryptside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family is at their respective homes.
