Florence Hill

Florence Bledsoe Hill, 84, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at White Oak Manor. Born September 8, 1926, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late James Bledsoe and Maggie Jones Bledsoe Schultz, stepdaughter of the late Benjamin Shultz, and widow of Durward F. Hill. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Hill was retired from Mary Black Hospital and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Sue Timmons Hill; two grandchildren, Jerry W. Hill, Jr. (Beth) and Mandy H. Barker (Jimmy); four great-grandchildren, Justin, Jaret, Colin, and Sarah; three step-great-grandsons, Christopher, Jacob, and Brandon Barker. She was predeceased by one son, Jerry W. Hill, Sr.; one great-granddaughter, Lauryn Hill; five sisters; and two stepbrothers. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, June 27, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2011, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Todd Black. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of her daughter-in-law, Sue Hill, 523 Houston Street, Spartanburg, SC.
