Flora Morrow

Flora S. Morrow, 100, loving wife of the late Albert M. Morrow of 57 years went to Heaven Friday, October 29, 2021 at Eden Terrace. Born in Pauline, SC, in the Friendship community, on September 3, 1921 to Manning Depree and Lillie Jones Smith.

Flora retired from Rockwell International, Draper Division after 27 years. A member of Friendship Baptist Church of Pauline, SC, she taught the youth Sunday School class for a number of years, along with the adult Martha Sunday School class, which was named after her grandmother, Martha B. Jones. She worked in the Music Department of the church as Choir Director and was the pianist/organist for over 75 years. She was still playing the organ at 97 years young.

She moved from her home in Pauline in 2006 to Spartanburg after 11 years a widow. She will be buried beside her beloved husband, Albert in the Friendship Church Cemetery. She loved her God, church and her family with all her heart. She made many friends in her lifetime who were very dear to her heart.

Flora was the last surviving member of her sibling family. She is survived by her two sons, Richard Albert Morrow (Jane) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Kenneth Legrand Morrow (Terri) of Lancaster, SC, three grandchildren, Robbin Morrow Turner of Charlotte, NC, Kristy Morrow Swentor (David) of Chagrin Falls, OH, and Darren Legrand Morrow (Katherine) of Charlotte, NC, five great grandchildren, Madeline Reed Swentor and David Garrett Swentor of Ohio, Julia Sofia Morrow, Olivia Grace Morrow and Liam Kenneth Morrow of Charlotte, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Thelma Smith O’Shields (Earl), Hazel Smith Goodwin (Smith) and Rachel Sherrill O’Shields, her two brothers, John D. Smith (Catherine) and Kenneth R. Smith (Jean), nephew, Mark Smith, her “Granny,” Martha Jones, and granddaddy, John Jones, grandmother, Ada S. Smith and granddaddy, Leonard Smith.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 1:45 PM Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church, 830 Friendship Church Road, Pauline, SC 29374. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at the church, conducted by The Rev. Brian Harris and The Rev. Monty King. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 830 Friendship Church Road, Pauline, SC 29374.
