Faye Collins

Faye B. Collins, 92, of 115 Pinewood Drive, Woodruff, SC, formerly of 101 Hillbrook Drive, Spartanburg, went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Monday, February 28, 2011 at her home. Born March 14, 1918, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Pickney and Laura Horton Blanton and wife of the late James Collins. Mrs. Collins was a primary school teacher with the Baltimore, MD school system, 1960-1980, and a caregiver in the nursery at Kids Konnection in Spartanburg, 1986-1992. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and graduated from Winthrop College in 1941. She is survived by her daughter, Sherra Ann Collins of Woodruff. Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faye B. Collins Memorial Fund, P.O. Drawer 1530, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
