Fay Hill Williams, 85, of 200 Fortress Drive, Inman, passed away peacefully Friday, May 21, 2010, at RoseCrest Nursing Home after a long illness. Born June 25, 1924, in Graham, NC, she was a daughter of the late Oliver Earnest Hill and Mamie Lee Patton Hill. Fay was the devoted and loving wife of the late Lieutenant Colonel Leland T. Williams for 60 years. As a committed and caring mother, she instilled the values of love, dedication, and caring for family in her children and others whose lives she touched. A native of Burlington, NC, she is survived by four children, Leland Kenneth Williams and wife Patricia of Burlington, NC; Margaret Williams Faust and husband Donald of Ruston, LA; Judith Williams Wood and husband David of Spartanburg; and Lori Williams Cox and husband David of Snellville, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Doris Hill McCrickard, of Elon, NC. Fay was predeceased by three other siblings, Katherine Hill Brooks, Edna Hill Ramey, and William Hill. A private graveside service is planned at the Salisbury National Cemetery later next week.
