Fannie Lou Kirby Melton, 71, of Spartanburg, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Myrtle Beach while on vacation and surrounded by family. Born February 8, 1939 in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edwin and Eutha Chaffin Kirby She retired from Mayfair Mills after 20 years of service and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Melton and husband Mike of Cowpens and Mary Ellen Lynn and husband Bob of Chesnee; a son, Donnie Sherbert and wife Linda of Myrtle Beach; three stepdaughters, Melissa Edge of Toccoa, GA, Phyllis Gossett of Chesnee, and Jackie Tucker of Inman; a stepson, Bruce Melton of Toccoa, GA; two sisters, Mary Parker and husband Earl of Winston-Salem, NC and Margaret Wallace and husband Wilborn of Fountain Inn; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one great-grandchild. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, JuJuly 10, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Burial will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at their respective homes.
