Evie Smith

Evie Wells Smith, 86, of Pacolet, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 9, 1929, in Pacolet Mills, SC, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Alice Horne Wells. She was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of nearly 60 years, Olin Dewitt Smith; daughter, Cherie Lynn Luker (Tim) of Spartanburg, SC; son, Jeff Olin Smith of Pacolet, SC; four grandchildren, Heath Brown (Valeen), Taylor Luker, Elizabeth Smith, and Jeffrey Smith; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Jett and the Rev. Tim Fowler. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
