Evelyn Smith

Evelyn S. Smith, 88, originally from Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Agape Hospice House, Lexington, SC, after a period of declining health. Born October 19, 1928 in Piedmont, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Duffy and Elizabeth Evans Smith and wife of the late Herbert T. "Pete" Smith. Mrs. Smith had lived in Spartanburg for most of her life moving to Lexington, SC, thirteen years ago to be closer to her family. She graduated in 1945 from Piedmont High School and Spartanburg Technical College in 1981, as an LPN. Survivors include her son, Michael Smith; daughter, Joyce Williams; son-in-law, Phillip Williams; two grandchildren, Laura Anthony, Sayge Hardin Anthony IV (Rachel); two great-grandchildren, Ashram Clark and Liam Anthony; niece, Pat Baldwin, from Duncan, SC, and several other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
