Evelyn Jackson

Evelyn Louise Arnold Jackson, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Lake Emory Post Acute Care-Inman. Born January 6, 1935, in Laurens, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Elisha and Veney Lou Hall Arnold. Mrs. Jackson was formerly employed as Clerk of Court for the City of Spartanburg. She was a former member of Northview Baptist Church for many years where she was a "GA" (Girls Auxiliary) leader, choir member, and soloist. She was currently a member of Hayne Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She fought the good fight, kept the faith, and now is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Surviving are her husband, Marion E. "Buddy" Jackson; daughter, Katina "Tina" Lou Holt (Terry) of Chesnee, SC; son, Tony M. Jackson (Janet S.) of Little Mountain, SC; grandchildren, Brandon L. Holt of Chesnee, SC, Clint M. Jackson (Shellie) of Six Mile, SC, Lindsay B. Reeves (Josh) of Boiling Springs, SC; great-grandchildren, Presslie and Savannah Jackson; and half-brother, John "Johnny" Arnold of Virginia. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Frost, Deacon Jerry McCarter, and Chaplain Mike Thomas. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Emory Post Acute Care, 59 Blackstock Road, Inman, SC 29349. The family is at the family home.
