Evelyn Goings

Evelyn R. Goings, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 2, 1924, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Otis Bert Ramsey and Ruby Mae Steadings Ramsey and widow of Martin W. Goings. Mrs. Goings was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church and retired from Phillips Fibers. Survivors include her children, Joyce G. Mabry (Jack) of Spartanburg, SC, Shirley G. Tipton of Gaffney, SC, James M. Goings (Beverly) of Chesnee, SC, and Ricky W. Goings of Spartanburg, SC; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Emma Lee Fincher of Union, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughters, Dianne E. Goings and Marlene M. Rushton and her husband, Larry; son, Boyce L. Goings; brothers, Orlander, Eugene, Garrett, Thomas, and Jack Ramsey. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306 with funeral services following at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor House for the special care given to Mrs. Goings.
