Euna Lowry

Euna Mae Brady Lowry, 92, of 185 Mills Avenue, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born October 25, 1917, in Landrum, SC, she was a daughter of the late Oren Lindsey Brady, Sr. and Gussie Edwards Brady and the widow of John David Lowry, Sr. A member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Loyalty Sunday School Class, she was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and attended Winthrop College. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Surviving are two sons, John David Lowry, Jr. and wife Patricia of Rock Hill, SC and Richard Brady Lowry and wife Judy of Cross Anchor, SC; two daughters, Elizabeth Lowry Brendle and husband Ralph, and Mary Lowry Dodkin and husband George, all of Spartanburg; four grandsons, Richard Brady Lowry Jr., Philip Kenneth Lowe, John David Lowry II, and Benjamin Frederick Dodkin; six granddaughters, Rush Lowry Neil, Wallace Lowry Barnes, Jon Lowry Hull, Marchant Lowry Bley, Brady Lowe Cutler, and Heyward Dodkin Bonyata; and ten great-grandchildren. Additional survivors are three step-grandsons, Jonathan Chad Brendle, Brad Lee Brendle, and Matthew Lauryns Brendle; and two brothers, Oren Lindsey Brady, Jr. of Campobello and John Lester Brady of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Jo Lowry and two sisters, Helma Brady Shields and Rebecca Brady Cunningham. The family wishes to extend special thanks to caregivers Dot Smith, Rachel Corn, Kathryn Shuping, Linda Mabry, Wendy Jones, and Jean Galt for their loving care, kindness, and support. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. David B. Smith. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304 or to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family is at the home of Libba and Ralph Brendle, 113 Commons Drive, Spartanburg.
