Eugene Robert Schuler, 69, of 454 Shiloh Church Road, Pauline, went home to be with the Lord suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at his home. Born November 29, 1942, in Highland Park, Illinois, he was the son of the late George John and Emma Vualdlere Schuler. A veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, Mr. Schuler had a lifelong dedication to Law Enforcement and received his degree in Criminal Justice from Palm Beach Junior College. He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and a member of Trough Shoals Masonic Lodge #228 AFM. He is survived by his wife, Joetta Owen Schuler of the home; daughters, Amy Melissa Holliday (Hugh) of Pauline, SC, and Lori Anne Copeland (Rich) of Greer, SC; grandchildren, William Baxter Copeland of Lexington, KY, and Adyson Grace Holliday of Pauline, SC; brother, George Schuler (Brenda) of West Palm Beach, FL; and his beloved golden retriever, Harley. A memorial service honoring his life will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Calvary Episcopal Church, by the Reverend Louis O. Miller, Jr., and military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team. Visitation will follow in the church Parish Hall.
