Eugene Dilazzaro

Eugene Raymond DiLazzaro, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 23, 1925, in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Michael and Louise Arace DiLazzaro. He was married to the late Theresa Rose Rapicano DiLazzaro for 64 years. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. DiLazarro retired from Crum & Forster-New Jersey, after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the American Legion. Survivors include his daughters, Anne Landsburg (Mike) of California, Louise Jacobs (Craig) and Kathryn Insabella (Mario), all of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Melissa Goodnight (Chris), Chris Jacobs (Whitney), Kaitlin Ragone (Hunter), Peter Insabella (Summer), and Paul Insabella (Alyssa); and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne; sister, Evelyn; and brothers, Rudolph and Robert. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2019, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Historic St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by The Rev. David R. Whitman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 161 North Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
