Etrulia Baker Tolleson, 84, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at her home. Born December 5, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jonah and Cornelia Josephine Lipe Baker and the wife of the late Lawrence Edward Tolleson for 61 years. She retired from Sears & Roebuck Company after 25 years of service, was a member of Clifton Second Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two nieces, Brenda Baker Hewitt and Jolene N. Crocker, both of Spartanburg; two nephews, Buddy Kirby of Boiling Springs and Barry Kirby of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a brother, Scoval Baker; and four sisters, Ella Nutter, Beulah McCarley, Nanny Lee Baker, and Gladys Kirby. Cryptside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, conducted by the Rev. William Howard and the Rev. Michael Stubblefield. The family will receive friends following the service at the cryptside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clifton Second Baptist Church, 5045 Clifton-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
