Ethel Coggins West, of Cowpens, SC, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Valley Falls Terrace, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Hester Pittman Coggins and widow of Burton E. West. Mrs. West was a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church and retired from the South Carolina Highway Department. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Webber (Ron) of Union, SC and Vivian Gentry of Cowpens, SC; grandchildren, Perry Gentry (Carla) of Cowpens, SC, Kim Foster (John) of Union, SC, Karen Henderson (Blaine) of Gaffney, SC, Susan Burgess (Richard) of Black Mountain, NC, and Sharon Carlin (Rob) of Boiling Springs, SC; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation will be at 10:00-10:45 AM Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ronell Owensby. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330.
