Ethel Rudicill

Ethel Henderson Rudicill, 90, of 102 Marion Street, Cowpens, SC, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 10, 1923, in Chesnee, SC, she was the daughter of the late L. M. Henderson and Mary Etta Suttles Henderson, and widow of Oscar Byrd Rudicill. Mrs. Rudicill was the eldest member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She loved her church and reading her Bible. Her church and family were her life and she enjoyed providing and caring for them all. Ethel retired from Reeves Bros. and Krispy Kreme Donuts. Surviving are her children, Wayne Rudicill of Chesnee, SC and Rachel Rhinehart (Ronnie) of Boiling Springs, SC; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lawing. She was predeceased by a son, Oscar B. Rudicill Jr.; grandson, Charles Wayne Rudicill Jr.; great-grandson, Christopher Quinn; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Rudicill; five brothers and one sister. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 AM Monday, March 10, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Henry Coley and the Rev. Fred S. Quidley. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330. Pallbearers are Mike Rudicill, Tim Dana, Jackie Rudicill, Todd Rhinehart, Chris Rhinehart, and Dylan Rudicill. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at their respective homes and may be contacted at 864-703-7934.
