Ethel Henson Hughes, 89, of 532 Pierpont Avenue Extension, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 22, 1922, in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late William Alexander and Zora Lee Donnahoo Henson and widow of James Naubert Hughes. She was retired from Butte Knit and Raycord and a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg. Mrs. Hughes was the loving mother of Terry Hughes and wife Freda of Spartanburg, and Deborah Riley and husband John of Hildebran, NC. She is also survived by two grandsons, Brandon Hughes of Mt. Pleasant and Andrew Riley of Hildebran; two granddaughters, Jennifer Brown of Spartanburg and Elizabeth Riley of Hildebran; three sisters, Pauline Genoble and Myrtle Guy of Spartanburg, and Ruth Buchanan of Moore; and a brother, Willie Henson of Woodruff. She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Al Phillips and the Rev. John Riley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at her sister's home at 125 N. River Hills Drive, Spartanburg.
