Ethel Hembree

Ethel Dillard Hembree, 94, of Valley Falls Terrace, formerly of Coopertown Road in Spartanburg, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Born March 17, 1921, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Victoria Noblitt Dillard and was married to the late J. T. Wilburn Hembree. A U. S. Army (Women's Army Corps) veteran of World War II, Mrs. Hembree was a member of Clifton Second Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg County and retired from Beaumont Mills. Survivors include a son, Michael Hembree (Polly) of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Holly Richardson of Pawleys Island, SC, Stacey Hembree of Waynesville, NC, and Chris Hembree of Brooklyn, NY; and great-grandchildren, Maggie and Hope Richardson and Gus and Harper Lee Farmer. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. David Moore. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
