Esther Ethridge

Esther Lou Ellen Ethridge Wilson, 76, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, January 5, 2012, at her home. Born April 21, 1935, in Georgetown, SC, she was the daughter of the late Creel and Gina Myrtle Langston Ethridge. Mrs. Wilson was a faithful member of Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church. She was a published author, "Josiah - A Story for Children", and retired from Skylyn Place Assisted Living. Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Kenneth Wilson; daughters, Diane Blackwell and Regena Garrett, both of Spartanburg, and Melinda Hayes and her husband Nathan of Nashville, TN; sons, Barry Wilson and his wife Kathy and David Wilson and his wife Nancy, all of Spartanburg; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny and Bill Joe Ethridge, both of Georgetown, Harry Ethridge of Newberry, and Roger Ethridge of Greenville; and a sister, Anna Malone of Mauldin, SC. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Ethridge; and sisters, Betty Fletcher and Shirley Taylor. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, in the church, conducted by the Rev. Preston Edmonds. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
